Hi, I'm Marta!
Originally from Italy, I spent a decade in London working in Academia. As a researcher, my days were filled with numbers, logic, and rules – everything very squared away. Deep down, I craved a creative outlet. I dabbled in hobbies like crochet and sewing, but something was missing. I needed something more... tactile.
Then, in the midst of the COVID lockdown, I made a bold move to Barcelona. Talk about a life change! Leaving academia behind, I jumped into a dynamic role as a product designer in a startup. And that's when pottery found me.
Despite growing up surrounded by art and pottery in my mum's studio in Italy, it took a change of scenery for me to truly embrace the clay. From the moment I first touched it, I was hooked. Each piece became a challenge and a lesson – teaching me patience, resilience, and the beauty of imperfection.
Most of my creations start on the pottery wheel, where I let my hands guide the clay into shape. From there, it's all about letting my creativity flow. Whether I'm altering shapes, carving intricate designs, or adding playful touches with stencils and sgraffito, each piece becomes a canvas for my expression.
Thanks for stopping by!
